Birth Story Listening
Coming Fall 2025
Birth story listening is a powerful, transformative practice that provides an empathetic and non-judgmental space for individuals to process, reflect on, and find meaning in their birth experiences. It is a crucial element in postpartum healing and emotional well-being.
Birth comes with a lot of emotions
Birth story listening is for everyone. Whether you faced difficult or unexpected events during birth, or even when a birth appears uncomplicated, it's common to have lingering emotions that are important to discuss and process.
I offer support to individuals who have gone through or witnessed challenging experiences during birth or the postpartum period. This includes mothers, fathers, grandparents, partners, and family members as well as birth practitioners such as doulas, nurses and perinatal workers.
Consider a birth story listening session if:
You're dealing with emotions like grief, shame, loneliness, disappointment, or anger
Certain aspects of your birth keep playing over and over in your mind
You're struggling to move on from your experience
You've never felt like your feelings about your birth were truly understood
Something feels unresolved about your experience
You don't want to hear others' positive birth stories
The thought of having another baby makes you anxious
You want another birth as a way to rewrite your previous experience
What does a Birth Story Listening session look like?
Sessions are conducted virtually. You'll need 60 minutes of uninterrupted time, so it's essential to arrange childcare for your children during our session.
Often, a single session is sufficient to help you embark on a new path.
No prior preparation is necessary, as I will guide you through a process that focuses on the heart of your birth journey and underlying concerns.
As I complete my training with Birth Story Medicine, sessions are free for a limited time.
